Karna the Unsung Hero of the Mahabharat

Today we learnt about the birth and life of Karna, yet another prominent character in the Mahabharat.
Karna was the oldest son of Kunti, but she gave him away as soon as he was born. He was raised by a charioteer and his wife. No body knew his real identity and he was never treated as a Kshatriya prince.
Karna grows up to be a very skilled archer almost as good as Arjuna. Drona the guru of the Hastinapur princes treated him indifferently.  At this time Duryodhan steps up and gives him respect. Karna promises his friendship and loyalty to the Kauravas and upholds this promise during the war inspite of Kunti reavealing his true identity.

Karna dies at the hand of Arjuna in the battlefield and was a true Hero who never got acknowledged due to his circumstances in life.
